Woodlodge Evron Egg Pot Glazed 44 Cans Red

Description

The Woodlodge Evron Egg Pot in striking glazed red is a versatile planter that brings contemporary style to any garden scheme. Standing at 44cm height, this substantial terracotta pot makes an impressive focal point whether placed on a patio, by a doorway, or positioned within a mixed border. The glazed finish not only enhances its vibrant red colour but also provides practical protection against the elements, making it more durable than traditional unglazed pots. This finish helps to reduce water absorption, which can extend the life of the pot considerably, particularly through the winter months when freeze-thaw cycles can damage porous materials.

The generous proportions of this egg-shaped pot make it ideal for specimen planting, allowing you to create eye-catching displays with a single architectural plant or a carefully composed arrangement. Its shape is particularly suited to Mediterranean and contemporary garden styles, working beautifully with tall ornamental grasses, architectural foliage plants like cordyline or phormium, or dramatic flowering specimens such as standard roses or bay trees. The curved silhouette also allows excellent root run for larger perennials or shrubs you may wish to establish in containers.

When it comes to planting and care, position the Evron pot in a location that suits your chosen plants’ light requirements. Given its substantial size, ensure drainage holes are clear and use a quality potting compost appropriate to your plants – free-draining John Innes No. 3 works well for permanent planting. In colder months, you may wish to move tender specimens to shelter or wrap the pot with horticultural fleece for extra insulation. The glazed surface is easy to clean should algae or dirt accumulate, simply wiping with a soft cloth.

Because this is a container that will remain outdoors year-round, its glazed red finish provides a striking visual element even in the winter garden when planted specimens may be dormant. The colour intensity is maintained without the fading that affects some exterior paints, making it a long-term investment in your garden’s appearance. This is a substantial, quality pot that will serve your garden beautifully for many seasons.
