Description
Daffodil Dutch Master is a classic spring flowering bulb that brings reliable colour and cheerful blooms to gardens year after year. Dutch Master is one of the most popular golden yellow daffodil varieties, producing large, well-formed flowers with a deeper golden trumpet and a bright yellow perianth. These robust bulbs are perfectly suited to UK gardens and flower reliably in mid to late spring, typically from March onwards depending on your location.
This pack contains 10 bulbs, each individually bagged in 2kg quantities, making it easy to plant in coordinated groups or drifts for maximum impact. Dutch Master grows to around 40cm tall, making it ideal for borders, naturalising in grass, or planting in containers. The flowers have excellent vase life if you want to bring them indoors, and they’re reliably pest and disease resistant, which means minimal maintenance once established.
For best results, plant the bulbs in autumn, from September through to November, in well-draining soil and a sunny or partially shaded spot. They’re not fussy about soil type and will thrive in most garden conditions. Plant each bulb at a depth of approximately three times its height, with the pointed end facing upwards. Space them around 10-15cm apart. Water in after planting, and that’s largely it until spring flowering begins. Once the flowers fade, allow the foliage to die back naturally for at least six weeks, as this helps the bulbs build strength for next year’s display.
Dutch Master daffodils are excellent value for creating a spring garden display that practically looks after itself. They’re perfect for naturalising beneath deciduous trees or shrubs, creating naturalistic drifts in borders, or growing in large containers on patios and terraces. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting out, these reliable bulbs are a fantastic investment in spring colour that will return year after year with minimal effort required.
