Description
Acer shirasawanum ‘Aureum’, commonly known as the golden full moon maple, is a small, slow-growing deciduous tree prized for its luminous foliage and graceful form. Its rounded, palmate leaves emerge in spring as a soft lime-green to golden yellow, glowing almost translucent when backlit by sunlight. As the season progresses, the leaves retain their warm chartreuse tones, sometimes deepening slightly in summer, before transitioning into a rich tapestry of gold, orange, and hints of red in autumn. The tree typically develops a broad, layered canopy with gently arching branches, giving it a sculptural, almost umbrella-like silhouette that adds elegance to any garden setting.
