Lavatera exclusive Mix C3

Description

Lavatera Exclusive Mix is a magnificent choice for gardeners seeking a generous, fast-growing shrub that delivers months of colour and wildlife appeal. This substantial deciduous variety reaches 1.5-2m in height, making it an excellent focal point for borders and mixed plantings. The flowers are particularly enchanting, opening as soft pale pink blooms that gradually fade to white as they mature, creating a charming two-tone display that shifts throughout the flowering season. This colour progression means your shrub remains visually interesting from early summer right through to autumn frosts.

One of the greatest assets of Lavatera is its irresistible appeal to bees and butterflies. The prolific flowers provide a rich nectar source when pollinators need it most, making this shrub an outstanding addition to any garden committed to supporting local wildlife. You’ll notice these beneficial visitors throughout the warmer months, bringing movement and life to your garden space.

Lavatera thrives in full sun positions and is remarkably undemanding in its requirements. It prefers well-draining soil and will reward you with the most abundant flowering when positioned in bright light. The vigorous growth habit means the plant establishes quickly, often reaching maturity within a season or two. Come spring, simply cut back the previous year’s stems to encourage a neat, compact shape and promote fresh flowering.

This hardy shrub requires minimal ongoing care once established. It’s relatively drought-tolerant once the root system develops, making it an economical choice that won’t demand constant attention. With deadheading of spent flowers, you can extend the blooming period and encourage further flower production throughout summer. For a screen, backdrop, or standalone specimen that combines practical vigour with genuine ornamental charm, Lavatera Exclusive Mix is genuinely hard to beat.
