‘Tortoiseshell Orange’ is an evergreen rhododendron which after flowering gives a bold and striking display. In late spring (typically May-June) it produces loose clusters (trusses) of funnel- or trumpet-shaped flowers that are a rich orange-reddish colour, sometimes with soft apricot or salmon hues. The blooms are large and showy, often with a few darker markings or dorsal spots on some of the petals, adding depth to the floral display.
