Cherry Laurel is a superb evergreen shrub that provides year-round structure, screening, and seasonal interest to any garden. This collection of 30 rootball plants, each reaching 125-150cm at point of sale, offers excellent value for creating instant hedging, boundary screening, or woodland planting schemes. The glossy, deep green foliage is dense and attractive throughout the year, with small fragrant white flowers appearing in spring followed by ornamental black berries that develop in late summer and autumn.

These Cherry Laurel specimens are supplied as rootballed plants, meaning they’re field-grown and lifted with soil intact, making them ideal for establishing quickly in the garden. They’re remarkably adaptable, thriving in sun or partial shade and tolerating most soil types, including chalky or poor soils where many evergreens struggle. Their tolerance of urban pollution and coastal conditions makes them particularly valuable for challenging locations, and they’re also excellent for attracting wildlife, especially birds that feast on the berries.

In terms of care, Cherry Laurel is wonderfully low-maintenance once established. Water well after planting, particularly during the first growing season, to help the rootball settle. An annual trim in spring, or more frequently if you want to maintain a neat formal hedge, will keep plants shapely and encourage dense foliage. They require minimal feeding on most soils, though a mulch around the base helps retain moisture and suppress weeds during establishment.

With heights of 125-150cm at purchase, these plants are substantial enough to make an immediate impact without years of waiting for maturity. Whether you’re planning a windbreak, privacy screen, formal hedge, or natural woodland edge, this quantity of well-developed specimens allows you to create a professional, integrated appearance from year one. Cherry Laurel’s hardiness, reliability, and year-round presence make it one of the most sensible choices for gardeners seeking functional beauty without fuss.
